When working in Corel Draw, sometimes it becomes necessary to insert certain text. However, this must be done correctly in order to be able to work with it in the future.
Despite the fact that Corel is quite functional, sometimes you have to resort to small tricks to make your work easier. The graphic capabilities of the program are quite extensive, but typing is still more convenient to do in special text editors.
Since the Corel Draw program is characterized as a vector graphics editor, first of all, all objects are supposed to be converted into lines and vectors. Therefore, Corel has its own specific parameters and conditions for working with texts. So, for example, if you apply the "Convert to Curve" command to a sentence or the entire text, the text automatically becomes a so-called "vector image". This means that you can no longer work with it as with text (change the font, size, etc.), but now you can work with letters as with a picture (stretch by nodes, use functions for vectors).
In order to transfer text to Corel and at the same time not lose the ability to format it, you must copy the selected text and paste it into the Corel program window. It is convenient to use the key combinations "Ctrl + C" (copy), "Ctrl + V" (paste).
You can also insert text using the "import" command located on the property bar. A dialog box will appear, where the program will ask you to select the parameters that should be saved when importing text.
A document that has been transferred to Corel will be positioned within a dashed border, the so-called text borders. Dotted markup helps a lot when working with pasted text. If a black arrow appears at the bottom or on the right side of the frame, this means that at this stage the text does not fit into the specified dimensions. In this case, it is necessary either to enlarge the borders of the text by dragging the cursor over one of the corners of the frame, or, using the transfer, change the area occupied by the text.
You can edit the text inserted into the document, change the font and color fill, apply various effects using the toolbar, as well as the "text" command in the "menu" bar
Before saving the file in which the font was replaced, it is necessary to convert the text to "curves". To do this, use the working arrow to "select" the text, then apply the key combination "Ctrl + Q" to it or use the command on the property bar "Arrange" - "Convert to curve".
