. Ods (Open Document Spreadsheet) files are Open Document spreadsheets created in Open Office or Star Office open source programs. The format was developed by the OASIS community, accepted as international and can be used without restrictions.
Instructions
Step 1
The Open Document format is an alternative to proprietary proprietary formats such as doc, xls, and ppt (used in Microsoft Office applications from 1997 to 2007).
Step 2
If you have Microsoft Office 2007 installed and need to open a.ods file, use the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet program. Open an Excel 2007 worksheet. On the top menu, click the Add-Ins tab.

In the drop-down list, select "Import file in ODF format". Alternatively, you can select the Import ODF Spreadsheet Menu button. The "Import ODF Spreadsheet" dialog box appears. In it, click on the.ods extension file that you want to open, click the "Open" button.

It is possible to open the.ods file in a second way. Right click on ods. In the context menu, select the "Open with …" item. then "Select a program". Select the Microsoft Office Excel program. Check the box next to "Use it for all files of this type." Click "Ok".

If you have Microsoft Office 2003 installed, you need the Sun ODF plugin to open the ods format. Download the program from the official website https://www.oracle.com/us/sun/index.htm (file size 33 MB)
Step 6
Install the converter as a normal program. Open a Microsoft Office Excel 2003 worksheet. On the Tools menu, select Add-Ins. In the Add-Ins dialog box, click the Browse button. In this window, specify the location of the odfaddin.xla file (path: С: / Program Files / Sun / Sun ODF Plugin for Microsoft Office *. * / Converter), then click the "Ok" button.

The top toolbar, just above the sheet, now has a new "Sun ODF Plugin" panel. There are buttons on it: "Import file in odf format" and "Export ODF file". Click the "Import File.." button. Select the.ods file, click the Open button.
