While looking for music, you stumbled upon a rather voluminous file with the ape extension. Most likely, it also included a small file with the cue extension. No program wants to recognize these files. All this means that you have come across an archive with music recordings compressed without loss of quality. It remains to unpack it.
It is necessary
- - Monkey's Audio utility;
- - Nero Burning ROM;
- - blank CD;
- - a DVD burner on a computer.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the ape file in Monkey's Audio program. To do this, use the Add Files command from the File menu. You can just click on the Add File button, which is located under the main menu.
In the window that appears, select the ape file you are going to unpack and click on the "Open" button. The file will be added to the list in the Monkey's Audio window.
Step 2
Start the process of unpacking the file by clicking on the Decompress button, which is located under the main menu. By default, the utility will unpack the file to the same folder as the original ape file. If this does not suit you, the destination folder can be changed via the Options menu. Click on the Output tab and specify the location on the computer disk where the unpacked file will be located.
Wait for the process to finish. As a result, you got one big wav file containing several tracks. You can cut this file manually using any audio editor. Alternatively, you can rip this file to CD by getting the splitting information from the cue file.
Step 3
To rip a file onto a CD, start the Nero Burning ROM program.
Insert the disc into the drive.
From the Recorder menu, select the Burn Image option. In the window that opens, double-click on the cue file, which is located in the same folder as the original ape. There is also the unpacked wav from it.
Click on the "Burn" button. Wait for the process to finish.
