Instructions
Step 1
To connect a large number of PCs to one Internet channel, it is customary to use routers. If you need to connect all two computers to the network, this equipment does not need to be purchased. Connect the computers to a local network using a reverse crimp patch cord.
Step 2
It doesn't matter how one of the computers gets access to the Internet. For this, the following devices can be used: USB modem, Wi-Fi adapter or other network card. Open the list of network connections of this PC.
Step 3
Go to internet connection properties. Select the "Access" tab. Turn on sharing for this connection. To do this, check the box next to the desired item. Select the local network for which computers can be accessed.
Step 4
Save your internet connection settings. Open the properties of the local connection to the second computer. Configure the settings for using the TCP / IP protocol. To do this, enter a static IP address and save the settings.
Step 5
Now you need to provide a stable internet connection on the second computer. To do this, open the TCP / IP settings menu of the network card connected to the first PC. Enter the IP address so that your computers match the subnet masks. Your best bet is to simply replace the last segment of the address.
Step 6
Specify the IP address of the server through which the Internet connection will be established. In this case, the first computer plays the role of the server. Therefore, in the "Default gateway" field, enter the IP address of its network card.
Step 7
Reboot both computers after completing the configuration of the network adapters. Check the internet connectivity of both PCs. Change the firewall and firewall settings if the second computer is not able to access the Internet.
