For faster access and file sharing between two computers at home, you can create a homegroup using the system settings. This option will allow you to exchange data at maximum speed without creating a wired network, but using only a wireless data transmission channel.
Instructions
Step 1
Connect both computers to your home Wi-Fi hotspot via a wireless adapter. One of the computers can be connected to the router using a cable. If you are organizing a home wireless network between laptops, you will not need to purchase modules to support the communication channel, because most laptops have built-in Wi-Fi.
Step 2
Go to "Start" - "Control Panel". Click on the "Network and Internet" section. From the list of options that appears, select Network and Sharing Center. Among the list of options, click on the "Setting up a new connection or network" section.
Step 3
In the window that appears, select "Configure the wireless network computer-to-computer", and then click "Next". Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the setup by entering the necessary information and specifying the folders that you want to allow access from another device, specifying the network name. To authenticate another computer, you will also need to set a security key, which you will need to enter when trying to connect.
Step 4
After completing the configuration, click on the "Enable Sharing" button and click "Close" after the corresponding notification appears.

On the second computer, also go to the "Network and Sharing Center". After that, click on the "Change adapter settings" menu on the left side of the window. Right click on the shortcut for your wireless adapter and then click Properties. In the list of components that appears, select the line "Internet Protocol version 4" and again select "Properties".
Step 6
In the IP address field, specify the parameter 192.168.0.2. In the "Default gateway" field, enter the parameter 192.168.0.1, i.e. The IP address of the host computer. Enter 255.255.255.0 in the Subnet Mask value. Next, specify the DNS of your internet provider and click OK.
Step 7
In the lower right corner of the system window, click on the network connection icon. Double click on the created network and enter the previously set security key. After clicking on the OK button, the connection will start. Setting up your home wireless network is complete.
