Step 1
Usually, a mixed type of local network is used at home. This is relevant if you need to connect stationary computers and laptops (netbooks) into a single network. Choose a Wi-Fi router that suits your needs. Pay special attention to the types of wireless networks this device can work with.

Connect the Wi-Fi router to an AC mains, having previously installed it in the desired place. Connect this network equipment with the cable of the provider. This connection must be made through the WAN (Internet) connector. Select the computer through which you will configure the router settings. Using a network cable, connect this PC or laptop to the LAN port of the Wi-Fi router.

Turn on both devices and wait for them to boot up. Open any available internet browser. Find its internal IP address in the instructions for the Wi-Fi router. Enter this value into the address bar of your internet browser. After opening the router settings menu, select WAN or Internet Settings.

Configure the connection to the server. For more information, check the official forum of your provider. Save the settings in this menu and navigate to Wi-Fi or Wireless Settings.

Configure the operating mode of the wireless access point. To do this, specify her name, password for accessing the network, and select the types of security. Reboot the Wi-Fi router after saving the access point settings. To connect stationary computers to the network, simply connect them to the LAN ports of the router. If you enabled DHCP function when configuring the WAN menu, the PCs connected to the router will automatically obtain the IP addresses of the desired range.
