An important quality of a server is the ability to use it at any time. Round-the-clock operation significantly loads the system components, therefore, requires a responsible approach.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, pay attention to the cooling of your server. If we are talking about a home server (and most likely, this is what we are talking about) and there is no possibility of using specialized racks, try to ensure sufficient airflow inside the case (if you do not plan to use liquid cooling) and install the server in a place with good air circulation.
Step 2
Power outages can negatively affect the operation of the server (as well as the operation of any other electronics). Connect power to the server through an uninterruptible power supply.
Step 3
Pay attention to the choice of the operating system for the server. The approach in this case is purely individual and depends on the purpose of its use.
Step 4
Automate the server boot process so that your intervention in the event of a server reboot is not required.
Step 5
Configure remote server management using standard Windows tools or programs like Radmin. Remote control of the server will save you a lot of time and nerves.
