One of the main characteristics of a computer is its RAM. The more it is, the more programs you can run at the same time. Also, RAM plays a very important role for video games and the overall speed of a PC. If it is not enough, then if the games are loaded, they will be very slow. But the fact is that a significant part of the system memory can be freed, thereby speeding up the computer.
It is necessary
- - A computer;
- - TuneUp Utilities program.
Instructions
Step 1
As soon as you turn on the computer, system processes are loaded into RAM, which are necessary for the operating system to work. Also, immediately after starting the program, it is loaded into RAM. But the fact is that along with turning on the computer, programs can be automatically loaded that the user does not even know about (PC monitoring programs, etc.). Meanwhile, they work and can take up a considerable part of the computer's RAM. By disabling them, you can free up system memory.
Step 2
For the following steps you will need the TuneUp Utilities program. Download it from the Internet and install it. Run the application. Wait for the computer scanning process to complete. After that, you will be taken to the main menu of the program.
Step 3
In the main menu, go to the "System Optimization" tab, then select the "Disable startup programs" function. In the next window, check the box "Enable program rating". A window will appear with a list of programs that start when the PC is turned on. The bottom-most section is called "Required Startup Programs". You do not need to touch the programs from this section, as they ensure the stability and security of the computer.
Step 4
You need the top section. Asterisks (criterion of utility) are shown next to each program. The more there are, the more it is in demand. The maximum possible number of stars is five. Programs with less than three stars can be turned off. To do this, just drag the slider next to it to the value "Autostart off". Then close all TuneUp windows.
Step 5
After completing all the steps, restart your computer. After that, the system memory will be freed. If necessary, you can return the program to autorun in exactly the same way, simply by moving the slider to the "Startup enabled" position.
