If the computer does not start, the first step is to exclude the possibility of damage to other components. This will help determine the health of the motherboard.

You start your computer. First, it works, data is being loaded. But as soon as it comes to launching the operating system, the screen goes black and nothing else happens. This means that the hard drive or video card is out of order. Then everything is in order with the motherboard.

Open the cover of the system unit. Remove all memory modules from the motherboard. Turn on your computer. The speaker should squeak. If there are no sounds and the motherboard does not react in any way to the absence of RAM modules, then it is out of order.

Pay attention to the capacitors on the motherboard. If they are slightly swollen, then the board really burned out. Swelling of capacitors can be caused by unstable operation of the computer's power supply. The breakdown of capacitors does not mean that the motherboard needs to be replaced. You can replace capacitors at home, if you have experience in soldering them, or at a service center.

On some motherboard models, if the CPU fails, the "Install correct central core" warning may appear when the computer is turned on. Turn on the computer, if the system starts to boot and this inscription appears in the window, it means that the motherboard has not burned out, but the central processor has broken. In this case, you need to replace the processor.
Step 6
One of the surest ways to check the health of the motherboard is as follows. Disconnect the RAM modules, video card, hard drive and all other devices from the board. Leave only the CPU. Turn on your computer. If, after starting it, you hear a squeak from the speaker, then the motherboard is working. In this case, one of the disconnected devices has broken.
