The usual deletion of all files on the hard drive, with their intermediate placing in the trash and further erasing the disk cannot be cleared: hidden or system folders and files will still remain. In order to clean the hard drive completely, you need to proceed differently.

Step 1
The easiest way to clean up a hard drive completely is to format it. This can be done directly from under Windows by going to My Computer and selecting the desired drive with the right mouse button. In the drop-down list, specify the "Formatting" command. After choosing the cluster sizes and formatting speed and depth, click OK. After a while, the operation will be completed and the disk is cleaned up. However, if the hard disk from which you want to delete information is system, and if you need to completely clear the hard disk without the possibility of data recovery, the described option will not work.
Step 2
To work with disks at a deeper level, you need partition managers. For example, Partition Logic, Partition Manager, BootIt Next Generation, Acronis Disk Director. It is best to use special bootable discs with such programs. Having booted from it (after setting the initial boot from CD-ROM in the BIOS), you can format both the system and any other installed hard drive. Thus, the data from them will be deleted.
Step 3
If you need to completely clear the hard disk without the possibility of information recovery, run the Acronis Disk Director program. In the window where the list of installed hard drives and partitions on them is presented, select the required disk with the right mouse button. In the drop-down menu, select the "Delete data" item. In the window that appears, enter the settings for the delete operation and click OK.
