Step 1
Make sure all USB ports on your computer are working. Insert the removable USB drive into the appropriate port on your computer. From autorun, select the option to open the disc. If your device is not recognized by the system, try installing drivers. Open the search engine page in your browser and enter "USB 2.0 driver for Linux". From the search results that open, select the one that suits you and download it to your computer. It is best to choose the driver file for download that has positive reviews.

Install the USB support software on your computer. Reboot the operating system and insert the removable media into the USB device connector. Open it in any file manager installed on your computer.
Step 5
If the USB driver installation fails, try updating your motherboard driver. As a last resort, check its presence on your computer and compatibility with the operating system. Best practice is to reinstall by downloading an updated version of compatible software, then restart your computer and connect the removable disk to it.
Step 6
Test your removable storage device for functionality by connecting it to another computer. Also try connecting another USB device to your computer. If the result is the same, reinstall the operating system by choosing a different distribution kit for installation.
