The hard disk is the user's “mirror of the soul”. Files for all sluts are scattered at random, "teapots" have no idea what and where they have. And only experienced users have everything sorted out on the shelves. The only factor that unites all users: each user has a certain amount of "file junk" stored on the disk. We are talking about files that the computer itself creates during operation. Without proper control, they take up most of the disk space. To prevent this from happening, do the following.

Step 1
Delete backups, files with the bak, old extension. When you finish working with Microsoft Word, delete the files with the wbk extension, but do not tread these files before: they will be needed to automatically recover documents in the event of an incorrect computer shutdown.
Step 2
Also delete temporary files that are stored at: C: / Windows / TEMP. As a rule, files in the TEMP folder can be deleted safely - unless you have just installed the program. If so, restart your computer before cleaning up.
Step 3
Clear Internet Explorer's cache of temporary files once a month. Do not forget to empty the Trash after cleaning the disc. The standard Recycle Bin stores only those files that you delete "manually". Right-click its icon on the Desktop and select Empty Trash.
Step 4
But it is better to use the standard "cleaner" supplied with Windows (disk cleanup program). Right-click, select Properties from the context menu. The properties of your hard drive will open before you, click the disk cleanup button. After that, the cleaning program will estimate the amount of space that can be freed. Then, to continue with the Disk Cleanup program, click OK.
