Removing unused and unnecessary files from the hard drive allows you to free up some free space and increase the speed of working with the hard drive. It is recommended to use additional utilities to clean local disks.

Instructions
Step 1
First, remove any unnecessary files yourself. These can be videos, music tracks, or old documents. After completing this procedure, search for and remove duplicate files.
Step 2
Download Duplicate Finder. Install and run this utility. Highlight the local drives where you want to search for copies of files. Specify the data type if you do not want to delete absolutely all duplicates. Click the Scan button. Wait for the copy search to complete.
Step 3
Select all unnecessary duplicate files and press the Delete button. Close the program after completing the described steps.
Step 4
Open the properties of the system local drive. Go to the General menu and click the Disk Cleanup button. Delete the suggested files after preparing them for this process.
Step 5
Download and install CCleaner. Download the utility from www.piriform.com. Run CCleaner after the installation of the program components is complete. Open the Cleanup menu.
Step 6
Select the Windows tab and select absolutely all the items in this menu by checking the box next to them. Go to the Applications tab. Select the groups of files that you want to delete. These can be temporary files from browsers and other applications.
Step 7
Click the Analyze button and wait until the list of files recommended for deletion is prepared. Click the Cleanup button. Open the "Registry" menu and select all the available items. Click the "Find problems" and "Fix" buttons in sequence.
Step 8
Open the "Tools" menu and go to "Remove Programs". Select the unused program with the left mouse button and click the "Uninstall" button. Remove other unnecessary programs in the same way. Restart your computer after you have finished using CCleaner.
