Without a doubt, the most popular Windows operating systems in the world will be in demand for a long time: Microsoft's product meets all user needs and does not require large technological costs to use. But which Windows can rightfully be called the best of the best?
Windows in retrospect: XP, 7, 8
If we compare the duration of the popularity of three versions of Windows (XP, 7, 8), then we can confidently say that XP was the most popular OS in the world longer than others. Why?
Windows XP required and still requires very few resources necessary for its full functioning, and its subsequent updates (Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 3) neutralize more "bugs" and "holes" in the system that were present in Service Pack 1.
Even after the appearance of Windows 7, many people still had the same “ExPs” on their computers that satisfied both programmers and gamers, and the “Seven” did not receive proper marks at first.
Later, the priorities changed: many appreciated both the beauty of Windows 7 and its functionality, calling it "The best OS from Microsoft since XP". Moreover, the buyer no longer needed to keep XP on his computer, because the development of the computers themselves went ahead, and although the resource consumption of new operating systems increased, the power of processors, video cards and motherboards also increased.
Thus, the current popularity of Windows 7 was a copy of the same popularity of Windows XP about 10 years ago: "Seven" is also great for the average computer user and at the same time has excellent compatibility with most of the newest and oldest games, applications and programs.
In the analysis of the success of Microsoft's operating system, the Windows Vista operating system is often omitted, because its functionality and resource consumption were found to be inadequate to average standards.
Windows 8 is a matter of taste
And, although today Microsoft has moved away from creating unique products, moving towards improving old products, their latest development - Windows 8 - has a right to exist and, moreover, successfully implements this right.
Windows 8 is recognized as an operating system that adapts well to the user and has the same functionality as Windows 7, with the exception of some "cosmetic" or aesthetic details - a new "tiled" interface, which was a replacement for the old Start menu.
The increased popularity of Windows 8 is due not only to a powerful advertising campaign by Microsoft, but also to the fact that this system fits more succinctly into the hierarchy of tablets, in which the "tiled" interface plays an appropriate role.
The question of which operating system to give preference to is extremely subjective: many users adhere to traditions - they do not want to delete the "Seven" with its standard menu, while others find the new Windows 8 interface not only convenient, but also original.
If we consider the two systems from the point of view of functional features, then hardly an ordinary and even more or less experienced user will be able to distinguish any significant difference between them.
