Quite often it happens that passwords entered into various programs long ago are safely forgotten. And no one remembers them exactly until the updated version of the old program suddenly asks to log in. The need to enter a forgotten password can seriously puzzle anyone. Many hope for their bright mind and good memory. But they can fail at some point. In this case, we will need special software that can see the password hidden behind the asterisks in various programs.

Step 1
There are a lot of programs that can show a password forgotten and hidden by asterisks from prying eyes. For example, Open Pass, Asterisk Key, Asterisk Logger. Many other free solutions can be found if desired. The easiest to use is the small Open Pass program. We will tell you how to see the password using it. Download and install the program.
Step 2
In programs such as QIP or ICQ, as well as browsers showing asterisks or circles, we will not be able to see the password. They have a different principle of operation: in the fields hidden by these symbols, in fact, there are no passwords. Therefore, in order to see the password, we will use, for example, the well-known Microsoft Outlook mail client.
Step 3
We launch the Open Pass program. If the antivirus takes it for a potential threat, we set it to "ignore" so as not to block its work.
Step 4
It's easy to see your mailbox password with Open Pass. We go to the Outlook menu: "Service" - "Accounts …" - "View or change existing …". Select the name of the mailbox and click on the "Change …" button.
Step 5
In the window that appears, in addition to the settings of the servers of incoming and outgoing mail, we see the fields "User" and "Password". The Password field is hidden by asterisks. Hover the mouse cursor over these asterisks and in the "View" field of the Open Pass program, we find the forgotten password!
