Step 1
First, learn how to connect multiple monitors at the same time. To do this, find identical video transmission channels. Monitors usually have VGA and DVI ports.
Step 2
Most video adapters have identical ports. Sometimes there are S-video and HDMI channels. In any case, when connecting different channels, you can use DVI-HDMI or DVI-VGA adapters.
Step 3
Connect both monitors to your computer's graphics card. This process can be done without shutting down the PC. If your video adapter supports dual-channel operation, the second display will show an image identical to the first.
Step 4
Otherwise, you will only see the desktop background. Follow the procedure below to go to the second display. Open Control Panel and go to the Appearance and Personalization menu. In the "Display" submenu, find the item "Connect to an external display" and open it.
Step 5
At the top of the window, you will see an image of the two displays. Choose the one that symbolizes the second monitor. Now activate the "Make this screen main" function.
Step 6
If working in dual channel mode, select Duplicate Displays. In this case, an identical image will be displayed on both monitors. Typically this option is used when connecting a larger display or device that supports high resolution.
Step 7
If your goal is to expand the work area, then activate the item "Expand this display". With this option selected, you can use both displays independently of each other. To move the working window to the area of another monitor, click on it with the left mouse button without releasing it, and move the cursor to the right or left outside the border of the first display.
