A screenshot (screenshot) can be taken using built-in functions of the operating system that your computer is running. You can also use additional software for the same - in this case, as a rule, the resulting screenshot can be edited using the same program.
Necessary
SnagIt application
Instructions
Step 1
There should be a button on your computer keyboard with the required command attached. It is denoted by the English Print Screen or PrScn for short. Press this key to tell the operating system you want to save the picture that is currently displayed on the screen. For many laptop computers (notebooks or netbooks), this key must be pressed in conjunction with the Fn button. After receiving the command, the OS will place a copy of the image displayed on the monitor in the clipboard. If you are not interested in the entire screen area, but only in the window in which you are currently working, press Print Screen in combination with the Alt key.
Step 2
Save the image using a graphics editor or, for example, a word processor Microsoft Office Word. Start this application and paste the contents of the clipboard into a blank document. A new document is created automatically when you start any editor, and to insert use the key combination Ctrl + V. Then call the save dialog - press the "hot keys" Ctrl + S. In the dialog, specify the file name and select a folder on your computer, on an external drive or in any computer on the local network. When using a graphical editor, you can also choose the format of the image file. Then press the save button and the problem will be solved.
Step 3
When using a specialized application for the same purpose, the procedure depends on the program itself. For example, if you install SnagIt on your computer, then you also need to take a screenshot using the PrintScreen key, but pressing it does not just place the snapshot on the clipboard, but prompts you to select either a specific window or select the desired area. For the selected window, you can give a command to add to the snapshot and its invisible part - SnagIt itself will scroll. The screenshot will not be placed on the clipboard, but transferred to its own program, which is a graphical editor with functions necessary specifically for editing screenshots.
