Necessary

To add text to your photo or add text to your picture, you need one of the graphics programs that allow you to edit images. You can choose powerful Photoshop, or use the simpler but more feature-packed programs Picasa, ACDSee, The Gimp, PhotoFiltre, or similar

Instructions

Step 1

To put text on a picture in Photoshop, start the program and open the picture by clicking File - open or by dragging the image into the Photoshop window with the mouse. Select the Horizontal Type Tool, which can be found on the toolbar in the form of the letter T or simply by pressing the T key. On the top panel of the program, select the desired font, size and color of the text. By clicking on your picture, enter the desired text. After the text is ready, select the Move Tool by pressing the V key, and move the text to the desired place by holding it with the left mouse button. When the picture gets the desired look, do not forget to save the file by pressing Shift + Ctrl + S.

Step 2

To make a picture with text in Picasa, open the picture in the program by clicking "File" - "Add File to Picasa". In the menu on the left, on the "Basic Operations" tab, click the "Text" button, select the color, size and font of the future inscription and enter the desired text. Here it can also be dragged by holding it with the mouse, or tilted using a special lever that appears when you click on the inscription. After the text is ready, save the file by pressing Shift + Ctrl + S.
