To use images in computer programs, they are usually placed in certain file formats. Most often these are formats specially designed specifically for storing graphics - jpg, gif, png, bmp, etc. Text and hypertext documents are stored in files of other formats, but modern text editors can also embed images in them. Therefore, the picture can be saved not only in the "native" graphic format, but also, for example, as a Word document.

Word processor Microsoft Office Word 2007 or 2010

Instructions

Step 1

Begin the procedure by starting up your word processor. In this case, the program will automatically create a new document, which is intended to become the carrier of the original picture.

Step 2

Go to the "Insert" tab and click on the "Picture" button in the "Illustrations" group of commands. This button is designed to launch the search dialog for the desired file - find a picture with it and click the "Insert" button.

Step 3

The operation of the previous step can be replaced by simply dragging and dropping the image file into the window of the created Word document. This method is more convenient to use if the picture is stored on the desktop or the folder with it is open in the Windows Explorer window.

Step 4

There is another way to place an image in a document. It is not associated with a file, so it can be applied, for example, to a picture opened in a browser window or an image viewer. Copy it to your computer clipboard. To do this, in the browser, right-click on the picture and select the line "Copy image". Then switch to the Word document window and paste the contents of the clipboard - press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V.

Step 5

Adjust the size of the printed sheet to the size of the picture placed in the document, if necessary. Click on the image, and Word will turn on the editing mode by adding an additional tab to the menu - "Working with pictures: format". The group of commands "Size" on this tab contains information about the height and width of the image. You have a choice: either resize the picture, making it equal to the width of the sheet, or set the size of the sheet to be equal to the size of the image. To implement the first option, set the required values in these two fields. If you choose the second one, go to the Page Layout tab, expand the Fields drop-down list and select Custom Fields. On the "Paper Size" and "Margins" tabs of the window that opens, set the required parameters and click OK.

Step 6

Save the document with the image to a file of one of the document types. Press Ctrl + S, and in the Save as type box, select the option you want. If you want to create a web document, select Web Page, Single File Web Page, or Filtered Web Page from the list. To create a file that is compatible with as many applications as possible that work with Word documents, select Word 97-2003 Document. Or you can just leave the default - "Word Document". Click the "Save" button, and the picture will be saved in document format.
