Many older games designed to run in the MS-DOS environment do not run on modern versions of Windows. However, those who want to play old hits should not despair, because there are still ways to launch such games today.
Instructions
Step 1
The easiest and most reliable way is to check if there is a patch for your favorite game that allows you to run it on a modern version of Windows. Most of the hit games of the old days have such patches (or game versions) already in place.
Step 2
Try running the game in compatibility mode. To do this, right-click on the executable file of the game, select the "properties" item, go to the "compatibility" tab and check the box next to the "run the program in compatibility mode" item, remembering to specify below in the compatibility mode what exactly you want to run it with.
Step 3
Use an emulator of the MS-DOS operating system, for example, DOSBOX. Download it, customize it according to your system, and play the good old and soulful games from the IBM 286 era.
