Step 1
Use Adobe Gamma to adjust the contrast and brightness of your monitor. This program is distributed free of charge with graphics applications from Adobe. It allows you to more accurately and more comfortably adjust the profile of your monitor. Before installing Adobe Gamma, be sure to make sure that there are no other programs to tune the monitor profile on your personal computer. Otherwise, a conflict of applications may arise, which will provoke their incorrect operation.
Step 2
Disable all profiles before starting the program using the following sequence of steps. Click the "Start" button, then "Control Panel" - "Display" - "Settings" - "Advanced" - "Color Management". Disable the default installed profiles.
Step 3
Start Adobe Gamma. She will offer you 2 options for working: step by step or in the "Control panel" mode. Select step by step mode. Create a new profile, give it a name. Adjust contrast and brightness as follows. Open the dedicated monitor setup image that you can download on the Internet.
Step 4
Set the brightness and contrast levels of the monitor to maximum. Then gradually decrease these parameters until the optimum for the perception of the image is reached. This method is suitable for adjusting CRT monitors. If you have an LCD monitor, to adjust the contrast and brightness, set the brightness level to 100 and the contrast level to 0. Then gradually increase the contrast level until the background has a clear gray outline. Then select the optimal brightness value.
Step 5
Specify the type of phosphor suitable for your monitor. You can find this information in the monitor instructions or on the manufacturer's website. Specify this information in the application setup wizard and save the profile. You have successfully adjusted the contrast of your monitor.
