The user may not always be sure that a genuine version of Windows is installed on his computer. But sometimes there are cases when you need to check this. There are different ways to check for different versions of Windows.
Instructions
Step 1
To authenticate the Windows XP operating system, run a command prompt. To do this, select "Start" -> "All Programs" -> "Accessories" -> "Command Prompt" or "Start" -> "Run", then enter cmd.exe in the appropriate field. In the command line that opens, write C: Windowssystem32OOBE msoobe / A, then press the enter key. In the dialog box that appears, information about the authenticity of the operating system will appear.
Step 2
To authenticate the Windows Vista operating system, also run Command Prompt. Then execute the following scripts in sequence by entering them at the command line: - slmgr-xrg;
- slmgr.vbs-DLI;
- slmgr.vbs-DLV The dialog boxes that appear after each script will contain information about the authenticity of the license.
Step 3
To authenticate the Windows 7 operating system, use the specific updates responsible for this feature. They are mandatory and are installed automatically if automatic system updates are enabled. Otherwise, install them yourself using Windows Update.

You can also confirm the authenticity of Windows using the official Microsoft website. Launch your web browser and follow the link https://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help/genuine/what-is-validation. This page provides detailed information on what Windows Authentication is and how you can get it. After reading, click on the "Check Now" link located in the upper right part of the page
Step 5
Read the information that appears. Then click on the Download link. Specify the location of the saved file. Without closing the browser, double-click on the saved file after it is fully loaded. Click "Run" and follow the instructions that appear. After the installation is complete, click on the "Continue" button located on the web page from which the file was downloaded. Based on the verification results, you will receive information about the authenticity of Windows.
