Perhaps, for professional users of personal computers, it is no secret that by default, after loading the Windows operating system, the Russian layout is installed. For some, this can become an urgent and annoying problem, because every time you log in, you need to switch the language and enter the password again. It is worth noting that the default input language is set during the installation of Windows, when the startup window appears. This language will be used both when logging into an account, that is, when typing a password, and when working with a computer, for example, when typing in text documents, etc.

Standard way

There are several ways to change the default input language. For example, if the user is not bothered by the fact that when the operating system starts up, they have to type a password all the time when entering, then you can use the standard tools of the Windows operating system. By default, most computers have two languages installed, these are Russian and English. Of course, it is always possible to connect and install any other language. To view a list of all installed languages, you need to use the language bar, which is located in the lower right corner. A special menu will appear in which all available languages are displayed. To switch the language, you can use the keyboard shortcut Shift + alt="Image" (Shift + Ctrl or Ctrl + Alt, depending on the settings). To change the default language, right-click on the language bar, and select the "Options" value in the context menu that appears.

After that, a special window called "Languages and text input services" will appear, in which there are three tabs, these are: the "General" tab, "Language bar" and "Keyboard switching". On the "General" tab, in the "Default input language" field, the user can easily change the language that will be considered standard for him (when opening new tabs in the browser, programs, etc.). It should be noted that this does not apply to entering a password before logging into an account, and changing this setting will require the registry.

Changing the language through the registry

To start the registry editor, press the Win + R key combination and enter the regedit command in the field. Next, when a special window appears, you need to go to the address HKEY_USERS \. DEFAULT / KeyboardLayout / Preload. There will be two parameters -1 (default language, mostly Russian) and 2 (additional language, for example English). To change the default language, you need to change their values. By default, the values in the list are set to 00000419 and 00000409, respectively. It is enough to rearrange these values, save the changes and everything will be ready.
