In Windows operating systems, a personal computer user can enter text or edit text files in different languages of the world. Possible input languages are included in the Windows 7 operating system, but must be added to the list of used languages before being used. The primary language used on the computer must be marked as the default input language.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the "Start" menu and in the list of libraries on the right, click the "Control Panel" line with the left mouse button once. The window for basic settings of the parameters of the personal computer and its components will open. The Control Panel can also be opened by typing “panel” into the search bar of the Start menu and selecting “Control Panel” there.
Step 2
In the list of the window that opens, select the "Regional and Language Standards" line by clicking on it with the left mouse button once. A dialog box opens with basic settings for language, regional and individual display settings for individual elements of the operating system.
Step 3
You can also open the Regional and Input Language Settings dialog box by launching the Start menu and typing language in the Find Programs and Files text box. In the list that opens, select the line "Regional and Language Options".
Step 4
Activate the Keyboards and Languages tab. It displays the settings for the keyboard used and the input languages.
Step 5
In the "Keyboards and other input languages" section, click the "Change keyboard" button. The Languages and Text Services window opens, displaying settings for keyboard settings, input languages, and more.
Step 6
In the window that appears, activate the "General" tab and in the "Default input language" block open the list of available languages. From this list, select the input language that you want to use by default, i.e. without first switching keyboard layouts.
Step 7
Click the Apply and OK buttons in sequence and close the Language and Keyboard Preferences dialog boxes. After that, the selected input language will become the default for the launched account.
