For those who use the Windows operating system, it is hardly a secret that in addition to the version of the OS itself (XP, Vista, 7), its configuration (Home, Professional, etc.), there is also a division by language, which used as a system one, that is, in window titles, when displaying system information, in the help system, and so on. At the same time, it is impossible to officially purchase a version in Russia, for example, for the United States. To change the language of "communication" of Windows Vista to any other, you need access to the Internet.
Necessary
Computer running Windows Vista
Instructions
Step 1
The first thing to note is that officially the ability to change the language interface is provided for two versions of Windows Vista, which are called Ultimate Enterprise. Make sure the version you have installed is one of the above. If so, go to the second part of the procedure for changing the language - downloading and installing the language pack.
Step 2
Use the Windows Update service. To do this, in the "All Programs" tab of the "Start" menu, select the "Windows Update" line. Run a check for updates for your computer. After the check is complete, select "Optional updates are available." Find the "Windows Vista Ultimate Language Packs" section and select the language pack you want. Of course, you can download and install all the available language packs, but it will take a lot of time and hard disk space.
Step 3
Confirm your choice of language by clicking OK and select "Install updates". Please note that the account under which you logged into the computer must have administrator rights. Wait for the update installation process to finish and restart your computer. Check if the interface language has changed.
Step 4
If there is no possibility or desire to use automatic updates, download the language pack as an installation file from the official Microsoft website.
Step 5
If your Windows version is not one of the above, you will not be able to use the UI Change Pack. In this case, you can use third-party software packages to customize Windows Vista, such as the Vistalizator package. But it should be remembered that such a change of language is a violation of the terms of the OS manufacturer's license and does not guarantee the completely correct operation of the "translated" system. However, in many cases, using such a configuration package may be the only way out of the situation.
