The procedure for a bootable HDD in the Windows version 7 operating system is quite different from the operation for creating a bootable USB Flash, but it is carried out by the standard tools of the system itself and does not require the use of additional special programs.
Instructions
Step 1
Bring up the main system menu of OS Windows version 7 by clicking the "Start" button, and go to the "Control Panel" item to initiate the procedure for creating a bootable HDD. Expand the Administrative Tools link and expand the Computer Management node. Select the Disk Management section and find the disk 1 that is the same size as the selected external volume. Define your HDD and bring up its context menu by right-clicking.
Step 2
Specify the command "Delete volume" and wait for the message about the successful completion of the operation. Use the Create Simple Volume command and enter 4300 in the Simple Volume Size line of the dialog box that appears. Confirm your choice by clicking the "Next" button and select the desired value for the name of the disk to be created in the new dialog box. Go to the next step by clicking Next and apply the check box next to Format this volume as follows. Confirm the execution of the selected actions by clicking the "Next" button and authorize the procedure by clicking the "Finish" button. Call the context menu of the created section by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Make section active" item.
Step 3
Repeat the entire procedure described above to create the second partition on the external HDD, but do not make it active.
Step 4
Insert the Windows 7 installation disc into the drive and open the "Edit" menu of the top service panel. Specify the "Select All" command to create a complete copy of all folders on the disk. Use the "Paste" command to copy the selected folders to the active partition of the created volume, or do the same in Total Commander if you have an ISO image of the installation disc.
Step 5
Reboot the system and specify the created external disk as Primary Boot Device in BIOS. Save your changes and use your HDD as a boot device.
