Instructions

Step 1

To create and adjust a bootable USB flash drive, I recommend using special utilities. This method can significantly save the time spent creating a boot sector on a USB drive. Download and install the WinSetupFromUSB utility.

Step 2

Run this program. Make sure there is no important data on the USB storage device. In the first field of the program, select the desired USB flash drive. Start creating your boot sector. Press the BootIce button and select the required USB drive again. Click the Perform Format button.

Step 3

In the new menu that opens, select the third item USB-HDD mode. Click the Next Step button. Select the USB storage file system. Use FAT32 or TNFS systems. They all have their own advantages. Click OK and confirm the launch of the proposed processes several times. After completing the creation of the boot sector, return to the main menu of the WinSetupFromUSB program.

Step 4

Copy all files and folders stored on the Windows XP installation disc or the previously downloaded image to a separate folder. Select the Windows XP Setup item in the program menu by placing a check mark next to it. Specify the path to the folder containing the installation disk archives.

Step 5

Press the GO button and wait until the selected files have been copied to your USB drive. After completing this process, safely remove the USB stick. Reconnect your device to your mobile computer and restart it. Open the BIOS menu and select USB-Device in the First Boot Device field. This is necessary to start the flash drive before entering Windows.

Step 6

After rebooting, select First part from partion 0. When the first stage of the system installation is completed, the laptop will reboot. From the quick launch menu, select Second part.
