The loading of the Windows Vista operating system over time becomes more and more prolonged due to the increase in the number of installed programs and services that ensure their functioning. At the same time, Vista has sufficient optimization capabilities to perform boot acceleration operations.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the system and go to "Run" to launch the Windows Defender tool to disable the loading of unnecessary applications.
Step 2
Enter the value C: / Program Files / Windows Defender / msascui.exe and click OK to confirm the command.
Step 3
Specify the "Programs" item in the defender window that opens and go to the "Software Explorer" item.
Step 4
Select Auto Download Programs in the Category field and click the Display to All Users button at the bottom of the application window.
Step 5
Disable any unnecessary programs.
Step 6
Return to the main "Start" menu and go to the "Control Panel" item to disable unnecessary services serving applications.
Step 7
Open the "Administration" link and double-click on the "Services" line in the list on the right side of the program window.
Step 8
Call the context menu of the required service by clicking the right mouse button and specify the required value.
Step 9
Use Disabled to completely disable the selected service from starting.
Step 10
Specify Manual to start the selected service only when requested by another service.
Step 11
Select Auto to automatically start the selected service when the operating system boots.
Step 12
Use the "Automatic" value to automatically start the selected service after a specified period of time after the OS boots.
Step 13
Use the sleep function instead of shutting down the computer to reduce the boot time of the operating system.
Step 14
Go back to the main Start menu and go to Run to enable the feature to use all system kernels at boot time to Windows Vista.
Step 15
Enter msconfig in the Open field and click OK to confirm the command.
Step 16
Click the Download tab in the application dialog box that opens and select Advanced Options.
Step 17
Go to the "Number of processors" section and specify the desired value.
Step 18
Click OK to apply the selected changes and restart your computer.
