Necessary

  • For this purpose you will need:
  • - thin screwdriver.

Instructions

Step 1

Some general information. BIOS settings are located in CMOS memory. By themselves, the BIOS settings by default do not contain passwords - neither for entering BIOS Setup, nor for turning on the computer. Therefore, if you have forgotten the individually set BIOS password, in order to enter your PC, you need to clear the CMOS memory. Thus, you will reset all settings, and return the BIOS to the default settings - access to the computer is open. There are two easy ways to restart the BIOS, and they are both very simple.

Step 2

Method one, universal. This option is suitable for all motherboards. A prerequisite is to turn off the PC from the outlet. Remove the left cover of the system side of your PC and very easily, without pressing hard on a special step, pull out the round battery - you can see it right away, you do not have to look for a long time. After you pulled the battery out of the slot, wait one minute and put it back in place. BIOS settings are reset to zero, BIOS is restarted. Do not forget to replace the system unit cover.

Step 3

Method two. In order to restart the BIOS in the second way, you need to install a jumper that closes the jumper contacts. Do it as follows: Turn off the computer and install the jumper. Turn on the computer - it will not work, but the CMOS settings will be reset to zero. Turn off the PC again, remove the previously installed jumper and turn on the computer. A window will appear on the monitor asking you to press the F1 button. This is necessary to set the BIOS parameters. If the default settings suit you, press F1, in the BIOS menu, click on the “Save and exit” option. After this action, the computer will boot completely. And if you want to set your individual settings - do it, and only then click on the "Save and exit" option. The PC boots up and you can start working.
