Instructions
Step 1
Restarting your MacBook is done through an analogue of the "Start" menu, which opens when you click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner. If you can't see it, it's most likely full screen mode. Move your cursor to the very top of the screen. The menu bar will pop up. The Apple logo will be in the upper left corner. Please note - as soon as the cursor moves from the menu bar, the line itself disappears and only the maximized window remains.
Step 2
If this method is inconvenient, you can exit full screen mode. Move your cursor to the top of the screen and click on the double arrow in the upper right corner. In this case, the opened window will be minimized to a smaller version. And a menu bar with an Apple icon will appear at the top of the screen.
Step 3
Next, hover over the Apple icon and click on the left mouse button. If you are using the Touchpad, one tap anywhere is enough. A drop-down menu will appear, which, among other things, contains the fields "Sleep", "Restart", "Shut down". In the menu, select "Restart" and click on the left mouse button (anywhere on the Touchpad). The Macbook will restart. It should be borne in mind that all unsaved files will be lost, and a notification window will pop up.
Step 4
Don't rush to restart your MacBook if any of the applications are frozen. Wait about a minute, the cursor in this case will become a rainbow spinning ball. Usually this time is enough for the application to process the last request and execute the command. In case the application still does not respond, you can use the "Force Quit Finder" function from the top menu with the Apple icon. A pop-up window will appear in which you can select the frozen application and confirm its closure with the "Finish" button.
Step 5
There are situations when the MacBook itself freezes and does not respond to any actions. The cursor does not move, key combinations do not help. Then a forced reboot is the last resort. You need to press the power button of the MacBook and hold it for a few seconds until the screen turns off. After the screen turns off, you can start up your MacBook again.
