Step 1
Install a software utility on your computer that will track the number of frames per second produced by your video card over a certain period of time playing Counter Strike. The most commonly used program is Fraps, but you can also use its counterparts.
Step 2
After installing the software, run your utility and make the necessary initial settings regarding the shortcut keys to start FPS tracking and to end it, also set up the recording of performance indicators to a file.
Step 3
Open the Counter Strike game, then, if necessary, connect to the Internet and open the client for online play. After that, switch to the game mode, having previously started tracking the FPS results using the quick access buttons. If you need to get FPS data at the moment, also use the keyboard shortcut you configured.
Step 4
Review the program's records regarding the FPS parameters it tracked in Counter Strike. They are usually stored in the logs of the appropriate directory in Program Files or Application Data, depending on the software you are using.
Step 5
If you want to increase the number of frames per second for Counter Strike, use the installation of additional software and video optimization programs, also update DirectX and install the latest video card drivers.
Step 6
Do not use other means of increasing the performance of the game, as you can break the video card. You can also adjust the settings for your operating system for the best performance in the properties of the "My Computer" menu.
