Quite often, users of the Windows operating system are faced with such a problem as the lack of launching the Desktop. However, solving this issue is quite simple and quick, it will take you no more than 20 minutes to prevent the problem.
Instructions
Step 1
If the desktop does not load automatically, you must force it to start. Windows Explorer, an application that implements the data access interface in the Windows operating system, will help you cope with this task. The absence of a desktop means that the explorer.exe process was not started when the computer was started, so it must be opened manually.
Step 2
After starting the operating system, press the key combination Ctrl + Alt + Del, then a pop-up window "Task Manager" will appear on your monitor. Next, in this window, click on the "New task" button.
Step 3
In the new window, write down explorer.exe, and then click the "OK" button. After completing this step, the desktop should appear on your monitor.
Step 4
In the event that icons and shortcuts still do not appear on the Desktop after manually starting the process, call the "Task Manager" again using the above method and select the "New task" item. In the window that opens, select the "Browse" tab, go to C: WINDOWS and find the explorer.exe file, then run it.
Step 5
As a rule, the above methods do their job, but at the same time quite often you have to start the Desktop manually each time you start the computer. The most likely cause of this failure is a virus. Check your computer for its presence using the Antivirus program. If the Desktop still does not load after running Anti-Virus, you need to edit the Windows registry.
Step 6
Press the Win + K keyboard shortcut to launch the registry. In the window that opens, enter the "regedit" command and click "OK". This will open the registry editor.
Step 7
In the Registry Editor, find the explorer.exe key at [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE] / SOFTWARE / Microsoft / WindowsNT / CurrentVersion / Image File Execution Options / explorer.exe and another iexplorer.exe key at
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE] / SOFTWARE / Microsoft / WindowsNT / CurrentVersion / Image File Execution Options / iexplorer.exe. Delete these keys.
Step 8
Next, in the registry editor, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinlogon, and then run the special Shell parameter, write explorer.exe in the Value column, then click OK.
Step 9
Restart your computer, the desktop should now load automatically.
