The most convenient way to add digital signatures to pdf files is using Adobe Acrobat XI. Here you can sign a document even with a graphic file of any format. However, for all its simplicity, you still have to install additional software for creating and verifying an electronic signature.
Necessary
- - Adobe Acrobat XI;
- - CryptoPro PDF application;
- - physical EDS carrier;
- - graphic file of signature of any format (optional).
Instructions
Step 1
Download the CryptoPro PDF installer from the official website (trial version). Run the installation wizard and follow the instructions of the installer. You can enter the serial number of the product later when you purchase the software. Choose full installation, then the application will work with both Acrobat and Reader.
Step 2
Now we need to set up signatures in Acrobat. To do this, open an empty program window, go to "Edit" -> "Settings", in the "Categories" section, open the "Signatures" menu. In the "Creation and Design" group, click the "Details" button.
Step 3
In the window that opens, select the CryptoPro PDF signing method, the default signing format is "PKCS # 7 - Disconnected". Select the checkboxes in the "At Signature" fields that will reflect information about the properties of the signature. Select the circumstances for viewing warnings, set the value of the ban on signing "never".
Step 4
In the "Design" section, click "Create". In the window that opens, enter the title of the signature - this is how the new signature will be displayed in the general list. Select your graphics settings: if you want to add a personal graphic signature, select the radio button for "Import graphics" and click "File". In the "Select a picture" window that opens, click "Browse". In the "Open" window, first select the file format in which your graphic signature is saved, find it on your computer and open it. In the preview window you will see your handwritten stroke - it will be added to the EDS certificate.
Step 5
In the "Text settings" section, select the checkboxes with the certificate characteristics that will be displayed on the seal. Click OK twice. The signature properties are configured, and you can sign the desired document.
Step 6
Connect the EDS carrier to the computer. To add the generated digital signature to the pdf file, open it in Acrobat, click Sign on the top bar, open the I need to insert a signature tab, select Place Signature, and drag the signature area to the desired location with the mouse pointer. A window for choosing a certificate will open. Open the required certificate and click OK. In the window that appears, select the signature format from the menu, check the appropriate box if you need to block the document after signing. Click "Sign", enter the new name of the signed file, wait for the cryptography service to read the EDS carrier, enter the password. Your pdf is signed.
