When using messengers like ICQ or QIP, each user decides for himself whether to store the history of the correspondence. Often, the information obtained in the dialogue still becomes necessary. For such situations, you can save the data through the "Settings" menu.
Necessary
- Computer with internet connection;
- Installed messenger (any).
Instructions
Step 1
Open the messenger and log in by entering your username and password. When a window with a list of contacts appears, left-click on it (just make it active). Then click the Settings menu (sometimes depicted as screwdrivers and other tools).
Step 2
In the new dialog box, select the "History" item by clicking the left mouse button. Configure options for storing history: put a tick in the "store message history" box, view other options. Configure the path of the folder where the correspondence will be stored. Set the largest size of the text file that will contain the fragment of the correspondence.
Step 3
Save the settings. Start a chat with anyone on your contact list. At the end of the conversation, check for the presence of history at the address specified in the history settings.
