When processing images in graphic editors (Photoshop, Gimp and others), you often have to combine images into one. To do this, the image must be "cut" from the background. How can this be done correctly?

Instructions

Step 1

Launch the Adobe Photoshop program, open the desired picture ("File" - "Open") or simply drag it from the folder into the program window. In the menu item "Layers" (top menu bar) create a new layer, with it you will work.

Step 2

Enlarge the picture with a magnifying glass to remove the background of the picture more accurately. Select the Eraser tool in the tool palette on the right. Right-click in any area of the picture, select the eraser shape (for example, if your picture has straight lines, select the square eraser) and set the hardness value. Slide the eraser over the background without touching the picture. Zoom in or out as needed, and use the History tab to undo an unsuccessful action. Press the key combination Ctrl + Z to undo the last action.

Step 3

Use the Magic Wand tool to separate the picture from the background. If the background and the picture differ significantly in color, for example, a black image on a white background, then this is the right tool for you. Select the Magic Wand tool from the tool palette. Click once on your image. If not all of the image is selected, right-click on the remaining image and select "Add to selection". Then press the key combination Ctrl + J, the picture without background will be copied to a new layer. Delete the previous layer and save the picture.

Step 4

Select the Quick Selection tool. It highlights areas of the picture with similar colors. Swipe the left mouse button over the background, or over your picture. Try to cover as much area as possible. If you selected the background, then just press the Del key and it will be cut off. If you selected a picture, right-click and choose Invert Selection. Press the Del key. If you were unable to cut out a picture from the background, and pieces of it remained on it, zoom in with the Loupe tool and use the Eraser tool to modify minor imperfections. Save the picture.
