In the Windows operating system, the user can customize almost all components and devices so that they meet the needs and allow you to comfortably work on your computer. The "Control Panel" is just intended to access the tools for customizing the characteristics and appearance of various components.
Instructions
Step 1
Access to the "Control Panel" is via the "Start" menu. If you have selected the classic style for the "Start" menu on your computer, press the "Start" button or the Windows key on the keyboard and left-click on the "Settings" line, select the "Control Panel" item in the submenu. If you are using the simplified style for the Start menu, the Control Panel item will be available immediately. Click on it with the left mouse button and wait for the required window to open.
Step 2
The "Control Panel" can be displayed in different ways. If it has a classic view, all the components available to the user will be displayed in the form of a list (or icons). If the "Control Panel" has a category view, all components will be sorted into semantic groups.
Step 3
For example, the Appearance and Themes category will contain components responsible for the appearance of the Desktop, the folders that open on the computer, and the appearance of the Taskbar and Start Menu. The difference between the classic view and the category view is not only in the way the components are displayed. When you browse the Control Panel by category, you will have access to not only the components themselves, but also the tasks that are typical for working with them.
Step 4
To switch from one view to another, find in the left part of the window on the typical tasks panel the line-button "Switch to classic view / Switch to category view". To better understand what changes are taking place, press the button line several times by clicking on it with the left mouse button.
Step 5
Each component on the Control Panel opens in a separate dialog box. You can open a component in different ways. The first option: move the cursor to the desired icon and click on it with the left mouse button. Second option: move the cursor to the icon, right-click on it and select the "Open" command in the drop-down menu.
