The solution to the problem of limiting the size of the generated file may be required in cases of testing or debugging new equipment, checking throughput, etc. The problem can be solved by standard means of the Microsoft Windows operating system or by using additional software.

Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button located in the lower left corner of the computer monitor to open the main menu of the Microsoft Windows operating system and go to the "Run" item to implement the procedure for limiting the size of the created file
Step 2
Enter cmd in the Open field and click OK to confirm that the command line tool has run.
Step 3
Enter fsuitil.exe file createnew a b, where a is the name of the file to be created and the full path to where it was saved, and b is the size of the file to be created in bytes. This action will launch the built-in utility Fsuiil, which is responsible for creating a new file with a certain size. As an example, you can try to create a 1 MB text file named “check”: fsuitil.exe file createnew c: est check.txt 1048576.
Step 4
Press the softkey labeled Enter to apply the selected changes.
Step 5
Download and install the BigByte app on your computer. The application is free and freely distributed on the web. The size of the program is 205 Kb.
Step 6
Run the executable file of the bigbyte.exe utility and enter the desired value for the name of the file to be created in the Filename field of the program window that opens.
Step 7
Use the drop-down menu of the size limitation line to define the required number of mega-, giga- or terabytes in the created file and press the Create button to confirm the execution of the command to create a new file with the specified size.
Step 8
Open the working folder of the BigByte application and locate the generated file.
