Recovering damaged folders is one of the most common problems encountered when using the Outlook application included in the Microsoft Office suite.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the main menu of the Microsoft Windows operating system by clicking the "Start" button and go to the "All Programs" item to initiate the procedure for recovering damaged personal PST folders or offline OST folders.
Step 2
Expand Accessories and launch Windows Explorer.
Step 3
Follow the path
drive_name: / Program Files / Microsoft Office / OFFICE12
and double-click the Scanpst.exe file.
Step 4
Enter the value of the name of the folder to be scanned in the "Enter the file name to scan" field and use the "Options" button to define the scan settings.
Step 5
Specify the desired settings and confirm the execution of the scan command by clicking the "Start" button.
Step 6
Wait until the verification process is completed and the backup file of the required folder is created.
Step 7
Use the option to change the name of the backup file or its location (if necessary) and confirm the execution of the restore command by clicking the "Restore" button.
Step 8
Open Microsoft Outlook and select "List of Folders" from the "Go" menu of the top toolbar of the application window.
Step 9
Locate the folder named Lost & Found and locate the recovered files.
Step 10
Create a new.pst file in the Recovered Personal Folders folder and move the recovered folders to the created file.
Step 11
Delete the "Recovered Personal Folders" folder that is no longer needed and close the Microsoft Outlook office application.
Step 12
Return to the previously used path
drive_name: / Program Files / Microsoft Office / OFFICE12
and double-click Scanost.exe to repair corrupted offline OST folders.
Step 13
Specify the folder to be scanned in the "Configuration name" folder and use the "Connect to server" option in the system query window that opens.
Step 14
Apply the checkbox to the "Eliminate errors" field and confirm the execution of the command by clicking the "Start Scanning" button.
