Step 1
The upper panel of the laptop is multifunctional: closed, it protects the computer from external influences; open - is a monitor for work and a screen for watching movies. You can adjust the brightness of the monitor using the keyboard. As a rule, it has special buttons with the image of the "sun". Click on them, adjusting the light and dark contrasts of the monitor. You can also temporarily turn off the image on the monitor on the keyboard by pressing a special button. On Asus laptops, this is a cross placed in the square of the screen. These buttons can be activated by simultaneously pressing the Fn key.
Step 2
You want to suspend the laptop. Close the computer cover to reduce power consumption and maintain the monitor's durability. At the same time, pay attention to the settings: either your computer will continue to work with the lid closed (for example, it will play music files), or it will go into "sleep mode". You can adjust the settings in a special folder. Enter the Start Menu. Select "Control Panel".
Step 3
Find the shortcut "Display", open it by clicking two cuts with the left mouse button or using the right button by selecting the "Open" option in the context menu that appears.
Step 4
In the "Screen" menu, find the "Screensaver" tab. Here you can adjust how long it takes for the monitor to go to sleep after shutting down, including a power saving screen saver.
Step 5
Press the "Power" button. Look at the Power Buttons menu. Here is a line with the functions "When you close the lid of the laptop:". Choose the option that suits you. Either when the lid is closed, the computer does not stop and open applications (including the Internet) continue to function, or the computer goes into standby mode. In this case, the computer remains on, but all applications and hard drives are stopped, and power consumption is also significantly reduced. In standby mode, the laptop can be disconnected from the network for several hours.

Select the desired function that will be activated when the lid is closed, press the "Apply" and "OK" buttons.
