For flexible differentiation of access to data and computer resources with the possibility of authentication and authorization, modern operating systems use the concept of accounts. Accounts are created both for real users working on the computer and for some services and applications. When you remove services or stop using the computer by any user, it makes sense to delete the corresponding account as well.

Step 1
Open Computer Resource Management. To do this, right-click on the "My Computer" icon located on the desktop. Next, in the context menu that appears, click on the "Control" item. The Computer Management window opens.
Step 2
Activate the Local Computer User Account Control snap-in. In the tree on the left side of the Computer Management window, open the Computer Management (Local) section, then expand the Utilities and Local Users sections. Highlight Users. A list of all local accounts will be displayed on the right side of the window.
Step 3
Find the account you want to delete. Sequentially view the list of the "Users" window. Pay attention to the contents of the Name and Description fields. For convenience, the list can be sorted by clicking on one of the buttons of its header. Highlight the item in the list corresponding to the account you are looking for.
Step 4
Start deleting your account. Right-click on the highlighted item in the list of users. A context menu will appear. Click on the "Delete" item in it.
Step 5
Confirm the deletion of the account. Examine the information in the "Local Users and Groups" message box that appears. Make sure that the name of the account shown in the window matches the one that was marked for deletion. Click the "Yes" button to permanently delete the account.
