Instructions

Step 1

Open the desired image in Adobe Photoshop (menu item "File" -> "Open" or hotkeys Ctrl + O). Click the menu item "Selection" (Select) -> "Color Range" (Color Range). The Color range window appears.

Step 2

Find the item "Select", it is located at the very top of the window. Click on it. In the menu that opens, you can select a group of colors or tones, which can later be made transparent. Those. only reds, only greens, blues, or only midtones, shadows, etc. If you need to select a single color pointwise, indicate in this paragraph "By samples".

Step 3

Look for Fuzziness to expand the range of colors you select. Below are the items "Selected area" and "Image". If you select the first, then the selected area will be preliminarily displayed in the preview window of the program. If the second, then the whole image will be shown.

Step 4

In the right part of the window there are three buttons with the image of the eyedroppers. The first one is just a pipette, the second is a plus pipette, and the third is a minus pipette. Click on the first one and click in the preview window or on the document itself on the color that you want to make transparent. Select "Selected Area" to see which parts of the image are selected.

Step 5

If you want to add another one to the selected color, click on "Eyedropper +", and then click on this color. If you subtract, then proceed in the same way, only using the "Pipette-". After selecting the desired color (or colors), click OK. As you can see, the selected colors are now highlighted in the document.

Step 6

In the list of layers (if it is absent, press F7), right-click on the background, in the menu that appears, select "From background", and in the next window - immediately OK. The background will turn into a layer. Press Delete on your keyboard. The selected areas will become transparent.
