Step 1
To install mods in Minecraft, download them to your computer from a verified site. It is advisable to check the archive for viruses before installing.

Find the minecraft.jar file on your computer, copy and place it on your desktop. If something goes wrong during installation, you can restore all your settings and saves.

You can find this file at C: / Documents and Settings / Computer name / Application Data / minecraft / bin if you have a Windows XP operating system. Windows 7 or Vista owners can access the C: / Users / Computer Name / AppData / Roaming / minecraft / bin folder.

If you do not see the file you need, go to the folder properties and in the view settings, enable the checkbox next to the line "Show hidden files and folders".

Using the archiver, open minecraft.jar and the mod archive that you want to install on Minecraft.

Copy all the files from the genus archive and transfer them to the minecraft.jar archive.

Open the meta-inf folder in minecraft.jar and delete its contents.

In order for the sound to work correctly in the installed genera, you will need another add-on - Audio Mod for Minecraft. Download it and install it as well.

You also need a GUI Api for most mods to work properly. And it needs to be matched to the version of the Minecraft game.
