Filters expand the possibilities of image processing in the graphics editor Photoshop. They allow you to change sharpness, contrast, color gamut, apply all sorts of effects on photographs and drawings. After installation, the program already has built-in - basic - plugins, but their capabilities are not always enough to achieve the desired result. Additional filters are added to Photoshop in several ways.
Necessary
Installed Adobe Photoshop
Instructions
Step 1
First, make sure the filter is ready for installation. If it is in an archive, unzip it into a folder that you can easily find on your computer. Examine the text documents attached to the filter. In some cases, they already contain step-by-step installation instructions. They also contain other important information, for example, information for activating a filter. Examine the files of the plugin itself.
Step 2
If the filter is represented by an.exe file (setup.exe, install.exe), then it will be installed automatically. Click on the icon of such a file to launch the "Installation Wizard". Follow its instructions, clicking the "Next" button when prompted until the installation is complete. The filter will be installed in the default directory.
Step 3
As a rule, the "Installation Wizard" independently finds the path to the graphical editor and determines its version. If this did not happen, click on the "Browse" button when prompted during the installation process and specify the path to the Adobe Photoshop program.
Step 4
If the filter you have chosen consists of only one or several files in the 8bf format, you will have to add them to the required directory yourself. Open the folder with the installed Adobe Photoshop editor - by default it is installed on the C drive. Find the Plug-ins subfolder and copy the files with the.8bf extension into it. The path might look like this: C: / Program Files / Photoshop / Plug-ins or C: / Program Files / Adobe / Photoshop / Plug-ins. The installed filters will appear in the corresponding editor menu after launching Photoshop.
