Instructions

Step 1

Before installing a new drive in the system, you must remove the old one. It is worth remembering that the drive is installed in the same way as it was removed. Therefore, if you learn how to remove, then you can install the drive too. To do this, disconnect the computer from a permanent power source (mains).

Step 2

Open the side wall of the system unit and leave it there for a while. This is to get rid of static electricity, which can damage some parts of the computer. Then disconnect the data cable (wide ribbon cable), audio cable (thin wire that allows sound from audio CDs). After that, disconnect the power cable, which consists of four colored wires. As a rule, the power cable is always firmly seated in the connector, so swing this cable in different directions. Be careful when removing the power cord.

Step 3

After removing all the wires, you need to unscrew all the fasteners of your drive. Usually these are 4 self-tapping screws. Now the drive is free of fasteners, it remains only to push it from the inside so that it crawls out from the outside of the system unit. Take a new actuator and install it in the reverse order described above. After installing the drive, you must turn on the computer. The operating system will automatically install the new device.
