Instructions
Step 1
Windows operating system installers include hard disk formatting functions. Insert the disc containing the system installation files into the drive and turn on the computer. Hold down the F8 key. After displaying a menu containing a list of equipment from which booting can continue, highlight the DVD drive. Press the Enter key.
Step 2
After a while, press an arbitrary key to start the process of preparing the computer for installing the operating system. When working with the Windows XP installation disc, follow the step-by-step menu until a window appears with a selection of the partition for installing the OS.
Step 3
Select the desired local drive and press Enter. In the menu that opens, select the "Format to NTFS" option and press the F key to confirm the start of this process. The installation of the Windows XP operating system will start automatically after cleaning the partition.
Step 4
For Windows 7 and Vista drives, wait until a menu appears with a list of existing partitions. Click the "Disk Setup" button, select the partition on which you want to install the new system, and click the "Format" button. Click on the "Yes" button in the warning window that opens.
Step 5
Now, once again select the desired section and click the "Install" button to start this process. In this case, you can select any other local drive. Remember that you need 15 GB of free space on the selected partition to successfully install Windows Seven. If you plan to install large programs, it is best to choose a local drive that is larger than 40 GB.
Step 6
If you need to save certain files before formatting the hard drive, please connect this device to another computer. Copy important data to a partition where you will not install the new OS.
