Step 1
Find on the Internet and download the firmware program for your drive model to the hard drive of your computer. Sample firmwares and other useful diagnostic programs can be found at https://www.samsung.com/ru/support/download/supportDownloadMain.do. You can see the exact model in Device Manager, in a disc burning program like Nero, or on the drive itself. The sfdnwin flasher is suitable for flashing Samsung drives. As a rule, a configuration file is created for each model, which is subsequently used for firmware. The situation is similar with the drive from Samsung.
Step 2
Download the firmware for your drive. Many manufacturers post updated firmware versions on their website. Unzip the files to a temporary directory. Open the drive tray before stitching. Run the downloaded flasher (you may need to unzip the flasher files first). In the dialog box, select the required model from the list of drives. Click on the button that says Download File Open.
Step 3
Tell the flasher the location of the firmware. Click on the Start Download button to start the firmware procedure. If, after starting the procedure, the flasher program generates a File Open Fail error, it means that you downloaded the wrong firmware for the drive. Download a different firmware version.
Step 4
It is worth considering that if the firmware program does not work correctly, the drive may completely fail. Including, if at the time of the firmware the computer suddenly turns off and the procedure is interrupted, most likely the drive will become inoperative.
