Almost at every forum, the subject of which is devoted to working with office applications, the question of protecting your documents with a password is constantly raised. It would seem that the topic is already erased to holes, but not all users of the Microsoft Office suite of applications know how to protect their document from prying eyes. There are many tools, ranging from simple password protection by means of a text editor, to the use of special programs.

Instructions
Step 1
You can protect your document immediately after it is created or edited. Click the Tools menu, then select Options. In the dialog box that opens, go to the "Security" tab. You can create a password to view or edit the file. Of course, it is advisable to set a complete ban on viewing the file, otherwise it can be photographed and then scanned. It should be noted that the password complexity must be high. Now there are many programs that can guess the password for your document. But the work of these programs can take from several hours to several days, depending on the complexity of the password.
Step 2
It is known that a large number of characters in a password does not mean its reliability. For example, Microsoft programmers use a very simple password - Password. It would seem that the word is very simple, but translated into Russian it means "password". So what's the secret? It turns out that Microsoft programmers write it in their own way, that not every hacking system can calculate this password. Its spelling is p @ $$ w0rd. It looks gorgeous, the car won't think of that.
Step 3
You can use additional security methods to strengthen your password. Password encryption will turn all the endeavors of attackers into a waste of time. Encryption can be added to the password on the same Security tab by clicking the Advanced button.
Step 4
The ambassador of successful password protection needs to contrive and not be held hostage to his cell. The entered passwords must not only be memorized, it is desirable to save them. But saving passwords on your computer will not be rational. The best way is to write passwords in your notebook or e-notebook, i.e. these are the things that will always be with you.
