Instructions
Step 1
Move your cursor over the My Computer icon on your desktop. Right-click on the icon, select Properties from the drop-down menu with any mouse button. The System Properties dialog box opens. The same window can be called in another way: through the "Start" menu, enter the "Control Panel", select the "Performance and Maintenance" section and the task "View information about this computer" or click on the "System" icon.
Step 2
In the dialog box that opens, go to the "General" tab and in the "System" section (lower part of the window) find out the amount of RAM on your computer. This data is in the last line, is reflected in gigabytes and is designated as RAM (the abbreviation stands for "random access memory").

You can also get information about the amount of RAM through the Help and Support Center. Press the F1 key, enter the query "RAM" in the search window, wait until the list of matches is formed. In the left part of the window, select the "Get computer information" task. Then in the right part of the window select the command "Show general information about the system", wait until the collection of information is completed. The amount of RAM will be listed in the "Memory (RAM)" section.
Step 4
You can view information about the physical and virtual memory of your computer in the Task Manager window. Right-click anywhere on the taskbar, select Task Manager from the drop-down menu and go to the Performance tab.
Step 5
Also, data about physical and virtual memory can be obtained through the "System Information" window. From the Start menu select the Run command. In the blank field of the window, enter the command msinfo32 without spaces and click OK or press Enter. Position the cursor on the "System Information" line.
