Autoplay is the automatic playback of an application or the contents of a disk or other removable media. Also, in many operating systems, it is possible, when autorun, a window appears asking for action when a removable media is detected.

Step 1
If you need to make a disk with automatic launch of a program or file to open it on a computer with Windows operating system, create an Autorun.inf file in its root directory before writing.

Open it with a standard text editor and enter the following text:
[autorun]
open =.

When entering the name of the program, be sure to include the extension exe after the name, separating them with a period. The same applies to executable files. If you do not know the extension, enable its display in the "Folder Options" in the control panel menu of your computer on the appearance tab. Uncheck the "Hide extensions for registered file types" checkbox. Apply the changes and view the name of the triggered items.
Step 4
If you want to enable the autorun function for removable media on your computer, start the Windows Registry Editor from the Start menu, to do this, in the Run utility, write regedit and press Enter. You should have a large window with a folder tree displayed on the left side. Change it to the following directory: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM / CurrentControlSet / Services / Cdrom] and write down the value of the line "AutoRun" = dword: 00000001.
Step 5
Enable autorun discs in an alternative way. To do this, open the Start menu and launch the Run program. Enter the following command on the line: “gpedit.msc”. Press Enter and in the window that appears, select "Computer Configuration" and run "Administrative Templates". In "System settings" enable autorun of removable media. The result will be the same as in the previous paragraph, but it is safer if you do not know how to use the registry editor.
