The person who bought their first computer may be surprised at the sheer number of cables that need to be connected. But do not be afraid, let alone despair. Despite the abundance of wires that need to be connected, it is impossible to confuse them or do something wrong when connecting.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a close look at the computer you purchased and the accessories that came with it. At a minimum, a keyboard and mouse will be included with the computer. With a very high degree of probability, your computer will also need a monitor to work. In addition, speakers, a printer, a webcam, a modem or router, and so on may be included with the general kit. Take out all the cables included in the purchase. Study them carefully, as well as look at the back of the computer.
Step 2
You will surely pay attention to the variety of interfaces. The computer has many sockets, but you can connect a cable with a specific plug shape to each of them. So do not be afraid, you cannot do anything wrong even if you want to. Only devices with a USB interface will have the same connectors, but do not be alarmed, any of them can be connected to any free suitable connector. So, let's begin.
Step 3
The largest of all cables will be the electrical network cable. Due to its specific shape, it is impossible to stick it in the wrong way. Plugged in, but do not plug the plug into the socket yet, first we will connect all the other wires. You will connect the monitor to the connectors on the video card. Find them. Usually there are several output connectors on a video card. You will most likely have either HDMI or VGA connection, refer to the supplied cable. The VGA cable will need to be additionally secured with the screws included in its equipment. Connect the other end of the cable to the monitor, do not forget to bring the electricity supply to the monitor as well. Modern keyboard and mouse are usually connected via a USB connector. Plug them into free slots.
Step 4
Speakers, depending on the model and equipment, can have several connectors, the same shape, but different in color. Connect the speakers, respecting the colors. Green to green, pink to pink, and so on. Do not forget to connect the speakers to the network. Connect the modem or router cable to the network card connector. Pay attention to the connection direction for the cable latch. Any peripherals you have left are most likely to be connected via USB. Connect them to free connectors. If there are not enough connectors, then you can buy a splitter, but remember that a device that is not directly connected may lose a little in power. Plug in the power cord, turn on the monitor and speakers, press the computer power button. If you got down to business without fuss or rush, your computer should be up and running right away. You have connected everything correctly.
